Cougar Challenge 5K
& 2 Mile Fun Run
Who:
This event is open to the community
and all ages are encouraged to participate.
What:
A 5-kilometer (3.1 mile) cross-country
race will be open to all ages and a 2-mile fun run will be held for youths ages
14 & under. The course is run primarily
on dirt and grass trails that feature rolling hills and a variety of terrain.
When:
Saturday, June 30, 2007.
Registration will be held from 7:30-8:30 a.m.
The 2-mile fun run will begin at 8:30 a.m.
The 5-K race will begin at 9:00 a.m.
Where:
The races will take place at Sam Michaels
Park. Registration and an awards ceremony
will be held in the main pavilion.

Why:
To promote fitness in the Eastern Panhandle
of West Virginia and raise money for the boys and girls cross-country teams at
Prizes:
T-Shirts will be guaranteed to all
pre-registered runners as well as the first 50 participants to register on race
day. Ribbons will be given to all youths
participating in the 2-mile fun run.
Awards will be presented in the 5-K race to the top three males and females in each
of the following age divisions: 14
& under; 15-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; and 60 & over.

Entry Fee:
The fee for preregistered runners (postmarked
by June 20th) is $13. Race
day registration fee is $15. The entry
fee is waived for youths entering grades 6-8 who participate in the Cross-Country
Conditioning Camp (June 25th-29th) sponsored by Jefferson
County Parks & Recreation (www.jcprc.org).
