You’ve done your Halloween race, and your Turkey Trot is still a few weeks away. So… what will you do in early November?

You are invited to support the Fisher House Foundation as you compete in the Sumerduck Seven Miler, or enjoy a Two Mile Walk/Fun-run! The race course is on gently rolling roads through beautiful rural Sumerduck, with one challenging hill in the 6th mile. The fun-run is flat and easy. The Church is a lovely setting for the start/finish.

Race Location: Sumerduck Baptist Church, 5354 Sumerduck Rd, Sumerduck, VA

Sleep Late: The race is at 3:00PM. No need to get up early!

Running Weather: An early November afternoon should offer ideal running weather… cool but not cold.

Why 7 Miles? The distance is motivated by the course itself. It starts and finishes in the center of Sumerduck. You go one mile out, around a 5 mile loop, and 1 mile back. No annoying 180s to break your rhythm! The distance just happens to work out to almost exactly 7 miles.

Course: These are the type of roads runners love to run on. Just enough elevation change to be interesting, a beautiful rural setting, and a tough hill 1.5 miles from the finish that will test your resolve and provide an opportunity to make a move on the competition. There will be a water station at the halfway point.

Low Entry Fee: This is a runner friendly race! Adults race for $15, Kids for $5, and the fun-run is only $10. Why spend $40 to run a 10K when you can race 7 Miles for only $15?

T-Shirt Optional: Some people want a race T-shirt, while some don’t. We let you choose.

Cash Prizes: Yes, we give out actual money to the top 7 runners! $50 first prize! Running books and gift certificates for gender and age-group winners. AND YOU CAN WIN IN MULTIPLE CATEGORIES!
Four Divisions
Open (all runners): 7 places
Masters (Women 48+ and Men 60+): 3 places

Fisher House Foundation: Support a great cause! Fisher House provides assistance to military families when a soldier is injured. All proceeds (we have very low expenses) go to the charity. Donations accepted here and at the race.
