after six races |
At the end of the series, age group awards will be given to the top two runners in each division (provided that they are not in the top five overall). Runners must finish at least five races and be SVR members by 1 March 2003 to be eligible for the age group awards. Names of SVR members below appear in purple. As with the overall awards, each runner's six best point totals will count towards their final score, so with two races remaing, we're sorting the standings by six races minus two-- or each runner's best four scores (indicated in the "best4" column). Check out the women's standings page for an overall view of the standings. Tip: If you are using the right Web browser, you can hover your mouse over the column headings below ("WS1", "WS2", etc.) to see the name and date of the race in question. |

| Female 13 & Under |
|
| One more race and Audrey Lawrence will have first place locked up! No other young women will be able to run the required five or more races, so it looks as though Audrey may very well take home another trophy in her last series in the 13 & under division. |
| Ineligible: Cayce Troxel, Emma Helsel, Hannah Helsel, Jenna Lewin, Katie Lettie, Sara Lettie, Simona Zduoba, Allison Lettie |
| Female 14-16 |
|
| Sherando High School junior Rachel Eisenfeld looks to be a virtual lock to win one of the five overall awards in the series, so Berkeley Springs High School junior Laurel Thomas is the only one left with a shot at an award in this age group. If she misses one more race, though, she'll drop out of eligibility. |
| Ineligible: Elizabeth Mumaw, Kelsey Shroades, Nina Pfeiffer, Jessica Artone, Brittney Latshaw, Heather Hunt |
| Female 17-19 |
| We've retired the awards for the 17- to 19-year-olds, as no runners in this age group will be able to run the required five or more races. Still, you young women out there are welcome to come out and enjoy any of our remaining races! |
| Ineligible: Ashley Kerner |
| Female 20-29 |
|
| Mary Smith has a solid foothold in the top five overall, leaving first place in the 20-29 age group wide open for her older sister, Angie Page! Tania Cubitt still holds second, but she'll have to run all of the remaining races and join our club in order to be eligible to win an award. (If Tania becomes ineligible, we may bring Jen Peachey back into eligibility, since she missed out on picking up points at the Mystery Distance Run due to her race director duties.) |
| Ineligible: Jen Peachey, Beth Degner, Kathy Harmon, Kristen Smith, Shannon Allmendinger |
| Female 30-39 |
|
| With SVR president Kim Weisgerber-Craig missing the Lincoln race, new club member Michelle See has moved into first place among the thirtysomething women! Perfect attendee Carol Culvyhouse has also moved up, but trails Michelle by quite a bit. If Michelle misses one more race, though, Carol will move up to first, and her fellow perfect attendee Lisa Radler will slide into second! |
| Ineligible: Brenda Schrank, Ann Robb, Heather Kremer, Laura Shaffer, Susan Musante, Jill Devereux, Kim Brake, Jeannette Shaffer, Pam Lettie |
| Female 40-49 |
|
| The women's 40-49 age group continues to be interesting! Ruth Riemenschneider and Lorie Weimar are still up in the top five overall, but That Nice Lynne Lawrence, Judy Masi, and Margaret Spivey are just on the outside of the top five. Depending on who shows up at the final two races, some could move up, and some could move down. The possibilities remain too elaborate upon which to elaborate at this point! |
| Ineligible: Mary Deppa, Laurie Smelter, Leslie Troxel, Frances Gipson, Nancy Gauthier, Gabby Vaughn, Peggy Sweeney, Brenda Waugh, Linda Martinsen, Zita Zduoba |
| Female 50-59 |
|
| Looky here! 50-year-old Nancy Specht has moved into the top five, leaving first place in the women's 50-59 age group to 60-year-old Kathy Smart! (Kathy is in the 50-59 age group because she didn't turn sixty until after the series had started.) Kathy just needs one more race to lock in her eligibility and clinch an award. |
| Ineligible: Sandy Adams, Charlotte Casey, Bonnie Jacobs |
| Female 60-69 |
| Mathematically speaking, these awards are now back on the shelf! With no women in this age group having run a Winter Series race yet, none of them could run the five races required for eligibility purposes. But if you're a woman in your sixties, we'd still enjoy seeing you at one or more of the remaining races in the series! |
| Female 70 & Over |
| I'm not sure if we've ever had a woman in this age group participate in the series. Thus, once again, we're going to end up with no eligible runners aged 70 or older. Oh well, maybe one o' these years we'll see someone in this age group! |
