Also included below is each runner's answer to the post-race Valentine's Day poll question, "Flowers or candy-- which would you rather receive?" The question was multiple-choice; write-in responses appear in red. NOTE: The Lincoln course had never been properly measured until this year-- the advertised 3.4 mile distance came from a 1998 car measurement. (Prior to that, the race wasn't advertised with a distance at all.) As it turns out, the Webmaster's admittedly hasty wheel measurement on race day this year turned up a distance of 17,520 feet, or 3.318 miles. So although we've been calling this race a "3.4 miler" for the past six years, it should really be the "Lincoln Valentine's 3.3 Miler"! The paces per mile below were calculated using the 3.318 mile figure. Come back soon for a race report and a bunch of photos, if the Webmaster ever gets a chance to work on that stuff! |
