Greetings SVR runners! While we all can’t wait to get back out to live races, we have to be cautious, especially with our amazing increase of runners over the past few years. Therefore, we have made the tough decision to go virtual with the 2020-2021 Winter Series. Believe us, we tried really hard to make a smaller 4 race series possible, but with the latest restrictions we are unable to secure venues to make an in-person series happen.
So what does a virtual Winter Series look like? We are still going to run around some of our favorite race courses, but you will be able to run on your own schedule from Monday through Sunday. We encourage you to post and send us your pictures so we can share all the fun.
First up will be the new trails at MSV! Run the course anytime between January 18-24. Even if MSV is closed, you can still park at the new 18 parking spots around the new entrance near James Wood Middle School! Run the new trails and post as many pictures possible. Use #SVRunsMSV and #MSVtrails when posting on social media.
We still want to provide you with some amazing swag and keep the cost low as always. For $15 (non-SVR members pay $20), you get to run 4 virtual events and will have the option to be mailed or pick up your awesome swag!
We will release details about the remaining 3 Winter Series events as we finalize the venues and courses. Remember – stay safe out there; we look forward to next year’s Winter Series and hope to be back full force and better than ever!
Registration will open and swag will be announced next week, so stay tuned!
