Shenandoah Valley Runners Club Awards
Shenandoah Valley Runners acknowledge the service and dedication of outstanding members and volunteers within the local running community by presenting awards at the annual SVR Banquet (held every March). Each year, SVR Board Members nominate individuals for the Ray Gordon Spirit of Running Award (SVR Club Founder) and the Volunteer of the Year Award. Members are also recognized through the Age Group Runner of the Year awards.
Ray Gordon Spirit of Running Award: The award is given to the person/persons/organization that best promote the spirit of running for the year. Criteria and past winners of the Ray Gordon Spirit of Running Award
Volunteer of the Year: This award is given to the person or persons who volunteer at a number of SVR local and club events. More than one individual may be acknowledged. There is no limit on the number of Volunteer of the Year Awards that could be awarded. Also, an individual may receive this award in successive year. The committee will be comprised of the Club’s Vice President, the statistician and a past Volunteer of the Year winner. The type of award is to be determined by the committee.
Runners of the Year: Given to SVR member for participation and/or outstanding performance within their Age Group. Runner of the Year Criteria
