PLACE: Clarke County Parks & Recreation located at: 225 Al Smith Circle, Berryville, VA. 22611. This 5K and 1 Mile Kids Fun Run, will be held on the fitness trail around the Chet Hobert Park, a 102-acre property West of Berryville.
WHEN: Saturday, November 11, 2022, 5K starts at 9:00 AM and the 1 Mile Kids Fun Run starts at 10:00 AM. This is also Veterans Day, so wear your Red, White and Blue as we honor our veterans. The start and finish line for both races, will be by the Kiwanis Shelter, behind the pool. Mile markers will be posted along the course. Shenandoah Valley Runners will be providing the chip timing.
The 5K cost is $ 35.00 and the 1 Mile Kids Fun Run is $ 25.00. Shenandoah Valley Runner members receive a $ 2.50 registration discount. Turkey Trot shirts are not guaranteed with registrations after October 21. After October 21, the 5K will be $ 40.00 and the Fun Run will be $ 30.00. These races are for all interested runners, joggers and walkers. For insurance purposes and everyone’s safety, please no dogs on leashes, baby strollers or headphones.
Overall trophy plaques to the top three finishers (male & female) for each race. The top three in each 10-year age group in the 5K, will be recognized with medals.
Masters’ winners (male & female) will get an award (40 and over). There will be frozen turkeys and other great door prizes to give away. Come back to the Parks & Rec. building after the races and show your runners bib at the door, to receive your door prize ticket. Must be present to win.
Bib & shirt pick up is Friday November 10 from 5:00 to 7:00 at John H. Enders Fire and Rescue Co. social hall, located in Berryville or at the race registration table starting at 7:30, before the race located in the Parks & Rec. building. Look for the Check In banner.
We are partnering with the FISH of Clarke County Food Pantry and will be collecting items Friday evening and Saturday at the race. We are collecting canned soup, vegetables, meat and kidney beans, boxed and canned pasta, cereal, canned fruit, spaghetti sauce, rice, mashed potatoes, stuffing, peanut butter, jelly, baking items and personal care items. No glass jars please. We THANK YOU in advance for supporting this food drive!
