Winter Series in review Final men's standings: overall, age groups Final women's standings: overall, age groups Wow, what a way to finish the Winter Series! Chris Northrup looked to have it all locked up-- but on the morning of the final race, he had to be at his son's basketball game. So Neal Riemenschneider, having already accumulated enough points, won the men's Winter Series title while running Claymont with his wife at a relaxed pace! Our congratulations to ol' Neal. Moving up to second was Michael Wilcox, running in his first and final SVR Winter Series (he's moving to New York). Kennon Yeck came close to catching Michael, but fell just two points short and wound up in third. Charles Bowles endured spills of various natures to place fourth, and Northrup had enough points to wind up in fifth. Of all five of these runners, only one of 'em won a race and only one finished second, which just goes to show that the series is more about consistency and participation than anything else. Neal, Kennon, and Charles were all perfect attendees (as was Randy Wingfield). Good work, everyone! Names of SVR members in the standings below appear with a reddish-pink background, and names of runners with perfect attendance appear in bold. The final tally of points, listed in the "-1" column, consists of each runner's best seven point totals. Series awards were given to the top five overall, to the top runner in various age groups, and to those with perfect attendance. See the men's age groups page for the final age group standings.
